The weather has been so lovely that I was amazed to see a lot of snow on the mountains as we drove through Petreto-Bicchisano yesterday.
Apparently, between 20-40cm has already fallen at 2000m so it won’t be long before the ski resorts open, and I suppose I’ll have to put the heating on too. In Corsica, the resorts are managed day to day according to the snow fall, so there are no fixed opening and closing dates so you have to just take pot luck.
They offer red, green and blue runs but for those who need the excitement of the black runs, the drive up there should do it for you!
Hi, this is a stab in the dark, but you never know, does anyone know of any work availabe for a few months of the year, it is for me as i am wanting to move to Corsica, needs to be somewhere in the north of the island preferably inland, I would be interested in any work whatsoever.

Hi NoMo,
ReplyDeleteThere's a farm in Corsica called "Corsica in Company" that welcomes volunteers from April through October. They're located in Pratu near Petreto-Bisichano.
I've actually wrote a post "Three Ways to get Paid and Travel to Corsica" recently on Corsica Journeys, you may want to check it out.
Good luck,
Liz
Hi Liz,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info and also the advice about ways to extend your trip in Corsica. In fact, that's pretty much how I got here to start with because I have a web-based job working for directCorsica.com.
I know the people who run Corsica in Company but they have recently returned to the UK rather than live full time in Corsica, so I'm not sure if they are still accepting volunteers - worth a try though!
Good luck to all and keep posting.
Thanks, Claire
